Rak Sanuk

Rak Sanuk (รักสนุก) is a deeply personal documentary that follows my return to Thailand for the first time in more than thirty years. As my father's health begins to decline, the journey becomes more than a homecoming. It is an opportunity to reconnect with family, rediscover a culture I had long observed from a distance, and explore what it means to belong to a place that has always been part of my identity.

Blending intimate family moments with the sights, sounds, and spirit of Thailand, Rak Sanuk is a film about memory, reconciliation, and finding home in the spaces between past and present.

  • Wat Paknam

On the banks of Bangkok's Chao Phraya River, is home to one of Thailand's largest golden Buddhas. It's also where my grandmother purchased the Buddha amulet I wear today.

After she passed away, the amulet remained in our family, changing hands many times until it finally came to me.

It's a small reminder of where I come from.
