TEACHERS PAY TEACHERS

Filmmaking and media production resources created by educator and filmmaker J.T. Chaiyakam. These project-based lessons help students develop storytelling, creativity, collaboration, and technical media skills through engaging, hands-on activities.

The woman, in a floral shirt, has gray hair and is smiling, while the man to her right wears a cap and a floral shirt, and has a blue lanyard around his neck. Other people are seated at the table with conference badges, and conference materials are visible on the table.

Speaking

My presentations are conversations, not lectures. Through storytelling, humor, and audience participation, I invite people to discover the connections we share. Whether speaking about creativity, filmmaking, neurodiversity, or finding your voice, my goal is to create experiences that bring people together and remind us that we have far more in common than we often realize.

Professional Learning & Workshops

I provide professional learning experiences that help educators integrate filmmaking, storytelling, and media production into their classrooms. Grounded in my work as a filmmaker, teacher, and researcher, these workshops give educators practical strategies for engaging students, fostering creativity, and supporting authentic, project-based learning. Sessions can be customized for schools, districts, conferences, and professional development days.

One-on-One Filmmaking Mentorship

I offer one-on-one filmmaking instruction, both in person and over Zoom, with a focus on supporting neurodivergent students. Drawing on my years of experience teaching filmmaking at Bridges Academy, I help students discover their strengths and develop authentic projects that reflect who they are. Whether their passion is narrative filmmaking, documentary, news, presentations, animation, or experimental film, my goal is the same: to help each student find their voice and amplify it through the art of filmmaking.
